What to do once Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends

Here at Beldray, we haver teamed up with Breast Cancer Awareness to encourage everyone to take some time to look after themselves, and to raise awareness of the incredible work that Breast Cancer Now do. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which means there are reminders everywhere to Touch, Look Check. But what happens once October ends?

It is important to keep regularly checking your breasts so you can be aware of any changes or lumps and can get it checked out as soon as possible. Checking your breasts may sound intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. You can check them in the shower, when you’re snuggled up on the sofa, or while you’re putting on body lotion. Checking your breasts once a month will keep you aware of what your normal is and any changes that might have happened.

Our charity partner, Breast Cancer Now, also does not stop once October is over. Their research goes on throughout the year, and to date they have invested over £255 million in breast cancer research. Their research includes research into breast cancer prevention, how to stop people dying from breast cancer, and how to help people live well. It is important to keep donations coming in so they can continue their research to hopefully meet their goal of ensuring that by 2050, everyone who is diagnosed with breast cancer will live.

To help with this, Breast Cancer Now have a number of fundraising events on throughout the year, one being Wear It Pink Day in October. Special events outside of October include their Afternoon Tea in August, Carols in Candlelight in December, and the Pink Ribbon Ball in November. These are all special days and events set up to raise money for Breast Cancer Now’s research and support, and anyone is able to join any of these events. However, there are also more flexible options. You could take on a sports challenge and complete a run, bike ride, or swim to raise money, or you could volunteer with Breast Cancer Now to help support those who need their service. There are many ways you can help Breast Cancer Now throughout the year through donating your time, money, or experience.

Here at Beldray, we are supporting by Breast Cancer Now by donating £5 from every Limited-Edition Pink Airgility Pet+ sold. Use the code BCN10 for an extra 10% off this October.
